Feat choice advice sought

roguerouge

First Post
Okay. So my urban ranger died this week. DM's told me he'll eventually be back. He's going from a Ranger 4/Fighter 1 to a Ranger 4. He's going to have Champion of the Wild alternative class feature, from CC. He's the melee guy in a party with a warmage, a warlock, a rogue, a scout, a knowledge cleric, and a paladin/binder. (I know...)

Anyway, I wanted to ask for help optimizing.

He's got improved toughness and two weapon defense feats locked in. He's got to drop either a house-ruled Toughness feat (5 hp lost) or weapon focus: exotic double weapons (he's got a +1/+1 orc double axe). Which should I drop? Should I keep pace with BAB or with HP? Incidentally, he's got a 16 CON from a 32 point buy character generation set up.

Secondly, I've got to start figuring out the extra feats that I'd get at ranger levels 4, 8, 11, 14 from Champion of the Wild. The character level feat at level 6 and the Champion feat at level 8 are locked in at Extra Favored Enemy and Improved Favored Enemy, unless I'm being foolish there. So, my choices are: Combat Expertise or Blind Fight. Which should I choose?

I'd drop the Toughness instead of the Exotic Double Weapons and I'd take the Combat Expertise over the Blind Fighting. Combat Expertise is a prereq for several later options. Furthermore, you can use it to occasionally lower your AC and offset the HP you'll lose due to losing the Toughness feat.
