Feat-Granting Magic Items?

Sorry but I've checked the boards and I can't find a clear answer.

Is there a formula for creating a magic item that grants a specific feat?

I've seen different prices in a variety of sources but not a clear process for creating the item.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No set formula that I've seen.

Since some feats can vary wildly in power based on who is taking it, what other feats they have, etc. it would be pretty hard to come up with a set formula.

There is not a formula. Prices for feat granting items vary depending on the particular feat. I think it would be useful to compile a list of official magic items that grant a feat, with their prices, and see if we can come up with some averages or a vague formula. But as far as I know, that has never been done.

Hmmpf.

There's a belt in A&EG that gives a +2 enhancement bonus to Con and the Great Fortitude feat for 10,000 gold. That's two powers in one item.

There's an ioun stone that gives the Alertness feat for 10,000 but ioun stones are not body-slot specific, so they cost more.

Specifically, I am looking at getting a mask or helm that grants the Blind-Fight feat.

Just have the item cast heroics, so many times a day. That should get you the feat you want, and will be a whole lot easier to price. You could also look at the mighty cleaving weapon quality for comparison.

Specifically, magic items that do not occupy a body slot are twice as expensive.

Alertness does not have a prerequisite; so I'd say that a magic item that grants a feat costs 5,000 gp. If the magic item that contains the feat has prerequisites add in 2,000 gp for each point of ability score prereq over 12. If there are other feats as prereqs add in another 5,000 gp to the cost for each one. If there is a bab prereq add 2,000 gp to the cost for the highest bab prereq. Finally add 500 gp to the cost for each skill rank prereq that must be met.

There is an item that grants mobility in the MIC. I vaguely recall it is an armor enhancement valued at a +1 enhancement, but I could be wrong on that.

Mobility I believe has the prerequisite of Dodge normally, and this bypasses that prerequisite.
