[Feat] Positive Energy Chain

FireLance

Legend
Well, I don't really like the all or nothing mechanic of the standard Turn Undead, and I do like the visual image of a blazing stream of energy arcing from undead creature to undead creature, blowing them up in the process. But enough about me; what do you think of the following?

POSITIVE ENERGY CHAIN [GENERAL]

Prerequisite: Ability to turn undead, Cha 13.

Benefit: As a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, you can generate a positive energy chain that destroys undead. Doing so expends one daily use of your ability to turn undead. As with turning undead, creating a positive energy chain is a supernatural ability, and you must present your holy symbol to do so.

When you activate this feat, you gain a positive energy damage pool equal to 1d12 points per effective turning level, plus an additional 1d12 points per point of Charisma bonus. The positive energy chain arcs from you to the closest undead creature to which you have line of effect. If there are two or more undead creatures that are equally close, you choose which to affect. The undead creature may make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + half your effective turning level + your Charisma bonus). If it fails and its hit points are less than or equal to your damage pool, the creature is destroyed and your damage pool is reduced by its hit points. If it fails and its hit points exceed your damage pool, it takes damage equal to your damage pool and your damage pool is reduced to zero. If it succeeds and twice its hit points are less than or equal to your damage pool, it is destroyed and your damage pool is reduced by twice its hit points. If it succeeds and twice its hit points exceed your damage pool, it takes damage equal to half your damage pool and your damage pool is reduced to zero.

If there are points remaining in your damage pool, the positive energy chain arcs to the closest undead creature with line of effect to the one which was just destroyed. Again, if there are two or more undead creatures that are equally close, you choose which to affect. The positive energy chain continues to arc to undead creatures until there are no more points remaining in your damage pool, or the chain has traveled 100 feet plus 10 feet per effective turning level from you.

An undead creature with Turn Resistance has resistance 5 per point of Turn Resistance. Hence, destroying a creature with Turn Resistance 2 will drain 10 plus its hit points from your damage pool on a failed save and 20 plus twice its hit points on a successful save. If there are insufficient points remaining in your damage pool to destroy it, it takes 10 hp less damage (which may reduce the damage it takes to zero).

EDIT: Added bit about Turn Resistance.
