Feat Selection: Half-Orc Cleric

Edit: Oh sure, completely change your focus while I'm typing this monster up. :p

Sorry 'bout that. :\ It just took going over this idea with some other people to see that my concept was too unfocused. And I'm sorry I didn't make this clear earlier: I'm building a half-orc cleric of Boccob for roleplaying reasons, not because I think it is necessarily a good mechanical idea. Still I would like the character to be built as well as possible, given my crazy RP ideas. I would greatly prefer to start play as a cleric, not as a fighter or barbarian, if for no other reason than because that would mean that Friday night my party would have two half-orc goons and no cleric. And I committed to showing up with a cleric. If I had my druthers I'd play something else, but it's my turn to take one for the team.

Shadeus: Morningstars are totally cool. I'd don't care whether the game mechanics back me up on this or not. I like totally crushifying monsters right in the face with my big spiky metal club. I guess I can give you one mechanical reason why they rock: they are both piercing and bludgeoning weapons at the same time. That ought to count for something, right?

Morningstars are good enough at least. :)

For a pure cleric you could pick up the same feats, the brb/clr is a bit more combat-focused naturally, but it's not like a cleric would be bad in combat, or anything.

For crushifying your foes, there's little that beats Power Attack and Cleave. ;)

I'd still go with either Str 17 or Wis 15.

Just make sure, that you take only a light shield, so you can actually hold your weapon there to cast spells. ;)

About Boccob and the domains... as a pure cleric those domains are great, only as a clr/wiz they are pretty pointless.

I guess I don't need the Dex that badly. I can certainly see the advantage of the 15 Wisdom over the long term. I suppose it would grate were I to reach a high level with this guy and not be able to use some spells because of low Wis.

I was leaning towards buckler anyway and getting a crossbow.
