Feat to Improve Dispelling?

I don't have my books with me, so I must rely upon the kindness of EN Worlders.

Does anybody know of a feat in an official (i.e., WotC) book to improve the caster level checks associated with dispel magic (and its greater cousin)? Ideally, the feat would even bump the check past the normal limits of the respective spells. If such a feat exists and you know of it, can you tell me the source and summarize the feat?

IIRC, there's a feat in Complete Divine which lets a cleric use a turning attempt to boost their caster level... which might help.

Beyond that, I can only think of prestige class abilities. Think Initiate of the Seven Veils (sic?) from complete arcane gets a boost to their abjurations. Archmage can get a spell power for a +1 boost to caster levels.

Spell Thematics (from Player's Guide to Faerûn) could be used for that (+1 caster level) as well.

Also, there are items... an ioun stone and the ring of arcane might in Complete Arcane.

And finally, there is a feat (in Complete Arcane, I think), which allows you to Take 10 on caster level checks, however, I'm unsure, whether it is supposed to work in combat (normally you cannot Take 10 in combat, and the feat doesn't really say that you can).

A simple Spell Focus (Abjuration) should do it. Or, if you're a cleric and have the Magic Domain, you can take Domain Focus from Complete Divine. Otherwise the Church Inquisitor Inquisition Domain grants +4, I believe.

Divine Spell Power.

Thanee, you're right. Won't affect the caster level.

I don't believe that an increase in caster level through feats or prc's which would grant higher caster levels would llow you to go other the maxime stated in the spell. I could be wrong but i can't remember seeing this ability any where.

Arcane Mastery.

And IIRC the Complete Arcane errata adds text that this feat can be used when threats or distraction would normally prevent taking 10.

Also useful is the Inquisition domain from Complete Divine. +4 to dispel checks, and since it modifies the check result, and not caster level, it isn't affected by the CL10 cap for Dispel Magic.

A Cleric 7/Sacred Exorcist 3 with Arcane Mastery could take 10, getting a total of 24, automatically dispelling all CL13 or less spell effects on a target.

Ah, good to know. Havn't checked that yet. :)

On second thought... does Arcane Mastery even work on dispel checks (i.e. are those actually caster level checks)?

From the SRD:

Targeted Dispel: One object, creature, or spell is the target of the dispel magic spell. You make a dispel check (1d20 + your caster level, maximum +10) against the spell...

Functionally, it is a caster level check, but it is called a dispel check.
