feats and level loss

when you lose a level (via rez or energy drain that becomes permanent) what happens to the feats you've already learned?

are they unlearned?
are they put on hold and you can't use them until you get back to the level that you picked them?
are they completely gone so you could even choose new ones when you leveled back to the level you previously chose them at?
or are they unaffected, i.e. you can continue to use them as if nothing ever happened and you don't get to pick new feats when you level back up?

You loose the feats. Now some DMs require that a PC picks up the same feat when the level is regained, but I think that's a DM's call.

if you permently lose a level, you lose any feats you gained at that level, and when you atain a level to gain feats, they can be different feats.

For example, I'm a 3rd level elven wizard with toughness (1st) and combat casting (3rd). I get level drained to level 2. I lose combat casting. When I gain enough XP for level 3 I take Still spell instead.

Nothing (IIRC) in the rules requires it be the same feat. As well nothing requires me to take my 3rd level in Wizard. I could pick up Fighter or something else.

...although it's probably a good idea to make them take the same level over again if they regain the level through a spell such as restoration.
