Feats for a druid?

I dunno. If you max out spot and listen and wisdom, your scores will be ridiculous even without Alertness... and if you get racial skill bonuses in wildshape (I'm not sure what the current ruling on that is), this can get even more ridiculous when you wildshape into an eagle or something.

One archetype not covered by the previous posters was the "Scout" druid. [EDIT: Though I suppose this may be covered by the "Wildshape Druid" previously mentioned.]

Max Survival, Know(Nature), Spot and Listen. Take Alertness, Quick Reconnoiter (CompAdv), Track. You will easily be out-rangering the ranger and you will be able to Spot trouble even if you miss it the first time because QR allows you to Spot and Listen every round as a free action. No, you won't be enhancing your offensive powers, but you will substantially improve your party's defensive capability by virtually never being caught totally off-guard.

If you want to add a little "Infiltrator" flavor to the PC, take a level of Master of Many Forms and gain the ability to Wildshape into any humanoid form.

Neat, eh?

Imbued Summoning from PHB2 might be nice. It lets you cast a buff spell up to 3rd level on your creatures as you summon them. It has Spell Focus (Conj) and Augment Summon as prereqs, but you were already planning on taking them. I know you said you didn't want to overspecialize, but summoning is fairly versatile.

Another decent one from PHB2 is Companion Spellbond. It lets you share spells and cast touch spells on your animal companion from 30 feet.

Improved Initiative is of course always a solid choice. Getting your buffs up before the enemy can act can make a huge difference.
