Feats from Dragon 305

THere are three feats from the latest dragon that I am thinking of using and I was wondering what peoples thoughts on them were. Here are the feats:

GOd Touched
Benefit: You gain a +1 luck bonus to any action that is related to your gods portfolio 1/day.

(seems pretty unpowerful but it is the prereq for the following 2)

Divine Fortification
Benefit:

Once per day you gain:
- a deflection bonus to your AC equal to you Cha bonus +1
- temporary hit points equal to your level
- +2 bonus to dex

These bonuses last your charisma bonus +1 rounds

Divine Fury

Benefit:

Once per day you gain:
- an increase to your BASE ATTACK BONUS equal to you Cha bonus +1
- temporary hit points equal to your level
- +2 bonus to str

These bonuses last your charisma bonus +1 rounds

Here are my questions.

Are the last two REALLY good?
Is Divine Fury to similar to a Barbarian's rage?
Would it be balanced if I replaced the 1/2 fiends Spell like abilities at 1st and 3rd level (darkness 3/day @1 and desecrate @3) with these feats?

Thanks in advance and I hope this is the right forum!

Wow! I can just see all those aasimar paladins (yes, I know you're out there :D) licking their lips. Compare them to the divine feats in DotF (some of which are admittedly too weak) and these two are in a whole other league. Divine Fury is especially problematical, with the bonus to BAB, with the potential to give a very high Cha cleric 2 extra attacks a round. An attack bonus would be much better. Also, since the bonuses are unnamed, they would stack with anything else. And I don't think the half-fiend spell-like abilities you mention compare at all in power. In short, I think they're a little too good, and would not allow those two feats in my campaign.

Much like a couple of spells.

Divine Agility (DotF) 5th level cleric. Gives you
18 Dex
Reflex save bonus
Spring Attack

Divine Power (PHB) 4th Level Cleric
18 Str
Fighter BAB=to Character Level
+1hp/level

I'm not sure if a feat should equal a 4th or 5th level spell, even with 1 useless prereq. Are there other feats that do this?

Adding to base attack bonus is very very sloppy / bad style in my opinion. (I really wish Tenser's and Divine Might didn't work that way). Should be a sacred bonus to hit or something...

Aside from that they look alright to me.

As it is written, what does your charisma need to be to make this good? and unbelievably good?

Figure a 16 cha gives you +5 to hit (and an extra attack 4/5 of the time) +1 damage some xtra hitpoints (not a lot) for 4 rounds.

That seems pretty good.

A 22 charisma gives +8 to hit (atleast one and two extra attacks 2/5 of the time) +1 damage some hit points (same amount) for 7 rounds.

Seems ALOT better to me.

Did I answer my own question?

I agree with Destil on this one (where's a flag when you need it?). The only real problem I see with these is the raised BAB. If that was changed to a named bonus to hit, I don't think I would have a problem with them.

As for your question of replacing spell like abilities with these feats, I would have to give a resounding no. Trading in class abilities for feats can quickly lead to a lot of complexity (read: loophole for power gamers) in game balance.
