Hi all!
It's been a while since we've had one of these threads. So, what new comics have you picked up this months? What's hot? Here are a few from me:
Walking Dead #4: The refugees need guns. But the nearest gunstore is six blocks into the zombie-infested city of Atlanta. It's a high tension story. If you like survivalist adventure, this is a great title to check out. (4 out of 5)
Meridian #43: Sephie faces off against her evil uncle and his new sigil-bearer allies. Beautiful art and Kesel's graceful prose makes for a fine read, but this title doesn't exactly excel at high octane slugfest action. I definitely enjoyed reading this story, but it wasn't playing towards its strengths (ie: character interactions and the sense of discovery.) (3.5 out of 5)
Lady Death: A Medieval Tale #11: It's got the same silly plotting and the same shallow characters, but Lopresti's pencils really bring the action to life, as well as creating a lucious setting. Yeah, it's eye candy and fantasy fluff, but there's nothing wrong with that. (3 out of 5)
Dragonlance: Legend of Huma #1: Hmm, I'm mixed about this comic. It's adapted from the novel, which I read as a youngster. I have very strong feelings about it. This comic didn't catch the magic as I remembered it. YMMV. (3 out of 5)
That's all for now. Still reading.
