[Feb] What are you playing?

Here's what's on my gaming platter:

Just finished Hordes of the Underdark. Too bad I went ahead and beat it unstead of finishing Shadows of Undrentide, but I'll get back to that soon.

Temple of Elemental Evil: Nice looking game, but some of the glitches are frustrating as hell sometimes.

Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox): Great game, just not enough time to really get it beat.

Soul Calibur 2 (Xbox): I've almost unlocked everything. Just a little more time. Hands down the best fighting game ever, IMO.

Tiger Woods 2004 (Xbox): Bought on a whim and I'm totally addicted. I've never had this much fun with a golf sim before. The amount of content is staggering!

The games I desperately want to come out are:
Doom 3: Hopefully it will live up to the hype. I've loved every second of the Doom series so far.

World of Warcraft: This is likely be bought, installed, played for the free month, and uninstalled just to see if they offer anything more than the boring kill/loot/repeat system in MMORPG's. If it does offer more, it will likely take all of my free time!

City of Heroes: I'm curious to see how supers will be handled in a MMOPRG...

Hmmm...I thought there was a big RPG coming out soon, but I can't seem to recall what...

Adios,
Kane

I just finished Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. It may not be the best designed game ever in terms of some technical aspects, but I don't remember the last time I had that much sheer fun playing a game. Every time I walked away from the keyboard I felt exhilirated.

I'm considering picking up Beyond Good & Evil in a few weeks -- it'll be my treat for March.

I beat Castlevania Aria of Shadows rather unexpectedly.

I borrowed Mario & Luigi so I've played that as well.

Let's I've also played Metroid Zero Mission.

And recent posts have reminded me I really need to finish BG&E.

I just finished Prince of Persia on Sunday. What a delightful game! Okay, the combat ain't so hot

I liked the combat for the most part, occasional certain fights drag on to long and camera angles can be a real nuisance (the elevator fight in particular), but over all I found it fun. Of course it's all of the acrobatic parts that are the most fun.

Don’t consider it, just buy it! When you can of course.

I've been on a fighting game kick with two games from opposite ends of the spectrum: Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution and Guilty Gear X2 on the PS2.

I've also been doing a lot of exploration in Namco's Playstation RPG Tales of Destiny 2 (Japanese title: Tales of Eternia, I think). Beautifully painted backgrounds and wonderfully animated sprites combined with a real time combat system with great depth make for old-school goodness.

I've also been getting a few hours of Max Payne 2 in on my PC every once in a while - and I wish I had more Orson Welles movies like Lady from Shanghai and Touch of Evil for some great noir atmosphere.

Yay for FF5, LightPhoenix! You know - I haven't beaten that one yet. I had a save file in the last dungeon somewhere around here... FF4 is still my favorite in the series, though.

I'm a bit more fond of FF6 myself, even though FF4 was the first one I beat. FF1 deleted my game right before Chaos, I never bothered to go through it again. FF5 is definitely the weakest of the three SNES games, but it's close between all three, in my book.

I'm trying to resist the temptation of sitting around and building job levels... first at the Jacole Cave and now at the basement of Bal Castle. Last time I played through FF5 my guys had a ton of jobs mastered before I even left Bal Castle. :P I want a more... authentic experience this time.

Damn, it's been ages since I beat FF1. I remember after I beat it the first time, I maxxed out all my levels, then took on Chaos again. Before anyone else could do anything, my "Master" took him down with one attack albeit a critical one.

Suikoden 2 , one of the best rpgs ever on a console and beats any final fantasy game on the ps1 (thats just in my opinion anyway)

I now have to get a job so i can buy Final fantasy X-2 . Looks good.
