Warhammer Fantasy Battle and the associated Lizardmen army book, The Battle for Spain
That made me laugh. :D

I'm currently reading A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. Next up, either Little, Big, by John Crowley or Standard Deviations: Growing Up and Coming Down in the New Asia, by Karl Taro Greenfeld.

Just finished Michael Moorcock's The Revenge of the Rose. I wasn't too impressed. I'm going to try an older Elric book, see if I am actually missing anything.

Reading Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep.

I just finished Children of the Night by Mercedes Lackey and am now half way through Burning Water also by Lackey. It took me a little bit to get into Children of the Night but now I am hooked on the character.

I'm almost finished reading the novel version of Flowers for Algernon. I had read the original short story version, and even though I know what's going to happen to poor Charlie Gordon, it's still been a good read.

We went to the library today, and I got a number of books out. I hope to read them all, but I may not. First is a fictional trilogy called Boudica, based on the famouse Celtic heroine, " B " Is For Burglar, and Shake Hands With The Devil by Romeo D'Allaire (definately not a book that can be discussed here, suffice to say it is about the UN in Rwands). We also got Angels & Demons, which I might read.

I’m currently reading The Hollow Men, by Nicky Hager.

Its an investigative journalism piece focussing on New Zealand’s National Party while under leader Don Brash.

It’s essentially about how he and his aides sought to win the election through cynical and calculated politiking, and their attempted secret relationship with the Exclusive Brethren Church.

It’s a very good read and Hager really knows his stuff (he’s very good at this sort of investigation). It’s no surprise that the day after this book was released Don Brash (leader of the Nats and the main focus of the book) resigned from office…

As Kelso would say – BURNED!!!

I like Moorcock's early stuff.....I think the Elric books are wonderful, but then the author was drinking heavy at the time and had just come out of a bad relationship...
