[Feb] What did you watch on DVD/VHS/theaters this month

In my opinion From Hell was researched more than just about any movie in the last decade (well, the comic I should say). And their research did in fact show him to be an addict. If you know of evidence to the contrary, I (and Alan Moore) would REALLY like to hear it.

From what I understand, a lot of what is in the movie (based off the graphic novel which is based off of other works and theories) is purely speculation. The graphic novel was never intended to be a completely factual portrayal. It's simply an entertaining (but, from my understanding, flawed) hypothesis based off of a conspiracy theory formulated by Stephen Knight. True, much of what is in the movie is based off real people, places, and events, but the core scheme is purely hypothetical.

Anyway, I spent quite a few hours on this site when From Hell hit theaters, and for specific information concerning the movie vs. real life events, this page and this page on said site.

Must track down Wings of Desier, the prequel.

Yes, you do. Wings is a much better movie. Everyone I know who has seen both, saw Wings first. And they all think Wings was better. So you probably did the smart thing by watching the sequel first -- you won't be disappointed when you watch the second one. :)
