An aspect of the Dark Sun campaign setting is things on Athas don't work exactly like they do elsewhere. While the Sorcerer-Kings are pretty powerful on Athas they're not exactly on the same power level as the Fey and demons Warlocks normally make their pacts with. The Sorcerer-Kings also have an impetus not to allow their Templars to get too powerful lest they become able to overthrow them. Thus a Warlock's pact with a Sorcerer-King is not going to have exact parity with a normal Warlock pact. That all being said the Fell Scorn worked well for me last night in the Encounters game. I was playing Vinara the Warlock and I cursed the BBEG. He got stuck with my curse and I got additional 1d6 damage every time I hit him and I was able to augment Hand of Blight with Fell Scorn for an additional 1d8. I rolled well so I did a fair amount of damage. Had the other baddies not been minions Fell Scorn combined with Warlock's Curse would have been a nice way to mow through them. Since it's a minor action to curse a creature you can throw out a curse every round and then use your Fell Scorn augment as often as your party kills cursed monsters. This is a lot more versatile than the low level psionics that can augment powers and then get stuck without any more power points.
