Feral Template and Shifter PrCs

Corwin of Amber

First Post
So, I'm preparing to make a Feral Shifter. I am going to take levels in Warblade, Warshaper, and Bloodclaw Master. I just have a few questions.

- Does the feral template lower my HD to d10s from d12s?

- Aside from the various Shifter-specific classes in ECS/RoE, are there any classes that enhance a creature's alternate form, similar to the way Warshaper works?

to answer your first question, i think that the change to hit dice just applies to racial hit dice, though i dont have my book near me. at least that is how i played when i had a feral character once. and i dont know about your second question.

The template alters only racial HD, which a shifter does not have.

It is an absurdly overpowered template especially for PC use. Just an FYI there.

Aside from the various Shifter-specific classes in ECS/RoE, are there any classes that enhance a creature's alternate form, similar to the way Warshaper works?
You mean besides Warshaper? Between that and the Eberron stuff you should be set. I can't think of anything else.

I've mostly figured out this character since I posted this thread. It's going to be PsiWar 4/Warblade 1/Weretouched Master 2/Bloodclaw Master 1/WeretouchedMaster +2/Warshaper 4/Bloodclaw Master +4/Warblade +2.

I ditched Feral, my original thought was that I would be too weak in a party that is usually full casters (myself included), but with various feat and power choices I have managed to get an impessive amount of damage output.

Thank you for the responses, though.

Only a cheesy munchkin with absolutely no regard for roleplaying would ever have so many classes in one build!

Isn't that a prerequisite to post here?

But seriously, it actually comes together quite nicely as a Shifter that seeks to control his feral nature through meditation and the discipline of martial arts. So we have PsiWar resulting from his mental control, Warblade resulting from his physical control, and the shapeshifter classes representing the development of his bloodlines. The only thing I don't like is the 1st level of Bloodclaw Master. I want this class to be his reconciliation of his powers; essentialy, he realizes that he does not need to control his inner beast, but channel it. However, from a mechanical standpoint that level fits better when taking it ASAP.

Or perhaps I'm just way too particular about mechanics coinciding with RP to allow my character to grow naturally.
