Festival of Halina (Orsal Judging)

Rystil Arden said:
"Please, be calm, friend Fang. The best way to think of this is not about having a 'share' to give. This money belongs to someone else, and they might need it, so we don't have any rightful ownership of it unless they gift it upon us--as Ingus said he would have done. Do not frown, for perhaps this will happen when we reach our goal--we'll just wait and find out, OK?"

"Me tryin me bes'ta remain calm, but me canna belive yue jus'let'em go like dat" Fang replied a little more calmly. "Fang met plenty jus like him. Actin evil one minute, and makin excuses da next. Make no mistake. If battle had been differen' ol'Fred would stuck one'o'us deep. Canna help but wonder 'ow many he'already stuck, or 'ow many he'll stick in deh future. An if it be dat poverty make Fred act evil, well I git news fer yeah... he's poorer now den he was befir."

"Top'a'dat, Fang donna appreciate all deh bad talk about dose dat were killed be me sword. I did what aye had ta do ta keep yue'all safe. Canna help but tink yue all tink me actions on account of me bein an orc. We'll let'me tell yue, I take no pleasure'in killin. But if it comes down to Fang life or deh life of me friend, I do what needs doing."

Fang finally paused for a moment, and took a breath. It was if he was finally starting to cheer up after getting everything off his chest. "Listen, me mean no insult teh anybody. And we git no problem given deh money back, so long as deh right amount goes inta deh right hands."

"I completely understand your opinion on this Fang, and I agree that your idea to indenture the bandits to the caravans they robbed would have been a good idea. The problem is that we had no way to do that this time because Ingus doesn't want them with us--maybe next time, OK?"

"And believe me, I don't think any less of you because of your heritage--in fact, I believe that orcs and goblins and humans could live in peace together if they just tried to understand each other more--where I live, we are at peace with the goblins and it is the halflings that are dangerous, but I understand here it is reversed, and the halflings I met in these lands are wonderful and kind folk."

"Listen, me mean no insult teh anybody. And we git no problem given deh money back, so long as deh right amount goes inta deh right hands."
"I'm very glad, Fang," Lasair nods and smiles at the orc, "I agree. The money must go to the right hands--otherwise, it is better off with us so that we can use it to help those in need, like when I gave my gold to Elise."

*Glad that Fang is willing to try to pay back the coin, Lasair gives the tired orc an appreciative hug.*

"And you are right, I guess I may have sounded ungrateful before...I apologise--Thank you Fang, and all of you for protecting us."

Ingus asks you all after a brief rest "Shall we continue?"

Assuming no complainst, eventualy the caravan begins it journey. The day wears on, and as night approaches, Troi spots a nice spot just off the road to bring the caravan where it's not easily visable from the road. The caravan stops for an uneventful dinner and rest, and the next morning it packs up and continues along it's way.

The next day goes by, and towards the afternoon Sunny spots a wagon off the road up in the distance. It doesn't appear to be moving, and there are three people off to the side of the wagon. They appear to be doing something with it, but it is hard to tell at a distance.

'Strange custom' Fang thought to himself. 'Maybe she practising wrestling?' But he accepted the hug nonetheless.

Later, when the group spotted the caravan up ahead, Fang instantly grew suspicious. He moved towards the front scouts an issued a warning. "Tings are not always as deh seem. Keep dose peepers open"

Fang began to scan the sides of the trail for any sighs of an ambush. He also took note of what the men up ahead were carrying and wearing. (i.e. armor and weapons).

"Never hurt ta be too careful" Fang said as he gripped his javelin carefully.

(OOC: Indeed. I thought the he was just a typo, but maybe not :) Lasair is a young lady with fair skin, bright green eyes, long beautiful red-gold hair and a friendly smile)

"Well they are either robbing this wagon or making repairs or the like. I guess we should check before we approach them with readied weapons, lest they fear the worst of us."

Indeed, as you aproach the wagon, you see that it appears that they are trying to lift the wagon up, with little success. Either they are attempting some sort of repair, or they are trying to steal the wagon by carrying it away. One of the men, an Elf, waves to you as you approach.
