Festival of Halina (Orsal Judging)

OOC: LOL. What about alcoholic? I thought Orcs enjoyed beer.

The bard bid the elves good luck with their work and a safe journey to Covington, and turned to leave. He stopped suddenly, and asked in Elvish,
"Oh, one last thing. Once we get to the festival, who should we tell people to look up if they desire a delicious Elven Jellywine Roll?"

"Send them to Falanders wagon. We always set up near the entrance to the south fields."
he calls out in Elven.

As you continue down the road, you notice an increase in traffic. Caravans going to Covington are almost common place, some moving faster than others. Many caravans camp togeather for protection, and you often find yourself sharing a camp site with several travelers heading for covington. Some are heading there to sell wares, others are going for the festivities.

Eventualy, a week after you set out, you find yourself ariving in Covington. The town itself seems fairly small, though there is a large Temple of Halina in the town. However, the numerous fields surrounding the town have been harvested, and caravans and travelers are setting up a place to stay in what must have been once fields of crops.

Ingus gets a nice spot in the north field, close to an irrigation path for easy access to water. Makeshift paths have been formed between the caravans, and his is just off one of the main paths in the north fields.

"I thank you all for your hard work in keeping my caravan safe. The festival should be starting in two days, but I'm sure you can still find something to do tomorow. Here is the gold, as promised. Starting tomorow, I will pay you 10 gold per evening, as agreed, while we are here at the festival, to keep watch just in case someone gets the wrong idea." Ingus hands you each a pouch of 200 gold.

"Oh, and let me know what you wanted to sell and what you wanted to keep from what you recovered from those bandits. I think I'll see what I can sell tomorow while I'm unpacking and setting up."

OOC:[sblock]I'm going to confirm with the judge, and give out experience for the adventure so far. I'll post it in the character tracking thread, and will not it here when I'm done. I do need to know if you intend on keeping any of the items you got off the bandits, and how you intend on dividing that up. I hope to have the exp and rewards up as soon as possable, so your responce will help. I will not include any moneies from the bandits, since their status has not been determined yet.

Link here for EXP. If you need to, get reaproved and update your notes here if you made a level.

Also, while I am doing that, I know I sort of fast forwarded to the actual festival. You have time to talk to other caravans if you wish, to find out any information you may like to know. Once I get all the monies and other stuff straightened out, we will continue (You might want the money and such, there will be plenty to do here).[/sblock]

OOC: Orcish beer swims. Well, technically, something swims in the beer, but most non-orcs don't make that distinction.

OOC- It's good to hear that someone around here is so well versed in orcish culture ;)

"Sell'er all, as far as I'm concerned" Fang mentioned to the resto of the group.

"So what yue fellas doin while we here?" Fang asked. "An yue mind if I come along?"

Oirhandir was pleased that the caravan had arrived safely, and gave a small prayer of thanks to Phyrah for seeing them here safely.

Oirhandir looked longingly at the chain shirt that once belonged to Phineus. It would definitely protect him better than the leathers he wore, but he was concerned about the burden poor Hiriloce would be carrying. Just the weight of the little pouch of gold that Ingus had handed him seemed to tip the scales in that regard. But the elf had an idea; he'd heard tales of magical pouches that could hold more on the inside than they appeared to on the outside. Oirhanidr wondered if one of the merchants might have something like that. If they did, he could wear heavier armor while still reducing his steed's burden.

"Ingus", he replied, "for myself I would ask that you not sell Master Phineus's shirt just yet. It's a fine piece, and I'd like to have it for myself. But I must first make another purchase so that I can better make room for it. Do you know where I might find a magical container...you know, a bag, a sack, a backpack...while we are here?"

Oirhandir was amused by the prospect of towing the hulking barbarian around from wagon to wagon as he explored the festival. The gigantic orc and the delicate elven bard, what an odd pair they'd make! With a sly grin, he answered his friend: "Well, I thought I'd look around for a sort of magical sack or backpack, I have need of such a thing. And we can ask around to see if any of the other caravans met up with Phineus and his crew, that would make Lasair happy." Shifting to Orcish, he added,
"And Fang, of course you'd be welcome to join me as I wander around."

OOC, for Bront:[sblock]Character sheet updated, still 2nd level for now. Oirhandir will look for a Handy Haversack, using the gold he's just been paid as a down payment and using Rupert's message as a letter of credit. If a merchant will take him up on the deal, he'll draw up a document authorizing Joe to pay the man in his absence, sealing it magically if necessary. Oh, and he will drop mention that anyone who had an unfortunate encounter with a certain Phineus on the bridge on the road to Orussus should report to Ingus Stonebender's wagon, and make inquiries of Ingus's guards. Oirhandir will, of course, plan on returning to Ingus's wagon by nightfall.

Ingus replied "There should be plenty of merchants selling all kinds of things here. Best bet is to look around yourself tomorrow. It's getting dark now, so probably best wait to the morning."

OOC: Edit, FYI, it is evening when you arived, and I'll give everyone a chance to catch up, post on what they want to do tomorow/discuss it, and give an idea about what they want to do to split up the loot.

Sunny has claimed a Light Crossbow and 25 bolts. Oirandir is considering the masterork chain shirt. Anyone else is welcome to weigh in.

I think I'll browse through all the opening stalls and find out what their selling, Would you like to come to, Lasair? Hopefully with Lasair in tow Elise will zip from stall to stall looking for anything of interest, color and affordable price. If the stalls are not to the selling point yet , then a walk away from the wagons would be good enough.

Pausing at Ingus' point and looking at the sky That is true, but we could examine a few stalls before the sun goes down
