"Yes, Lets explore some more. I could use a hat, Though I wanted to see what there was in the way of games. Maybe spruce up the Red Dragon with a chess board, Have you ever played chess before, Lasair?"

OOC:
[sblock] WHY doesn't anyone have the decency not to post while I'm at work?!? I could be mopping right not but instead I'm playing catchup

I AM NOT TAKING OFF MY SHIRT FOR SOME SHAMELESS FESTIVAL!

Why thank you I'd love one

I wonder if there are any carnie games, Elise will watch for them[/sblock]
"Sounds like fun!" Lasair replies, following Elise out into the festival once more, "Chess? I have not heard of this thing you call chess. Is it about my chest? Or is it a game, like stones?"

" No... No it's not about your chest" uncertainty ringing in her voice

"It's a game, The best game I've ever played, easy to learn to! I'm sure someone's selling a set. I will show you, and then you can show me stones, The game I mean."

"Stones is very easy too. You just have one person with dark stones and the other with light stones, and you try to make all the stones your colour, and then you win. The best part is that you can improvise a game board in the sand if you can just find some stones. They say that you can guage a woman's acumen at intrigue by studying her skill at stones, but I don't know myself."

OOC: BTW, what is everyone else going to do? ...and Fang and Oirhandir are brewing in the temple. (There's something I thought i'd never say)
OOC: Just let me know if Oirhandir starts to feel like he's cramping Fang's style (and there's something I thought I'd never say!)

Elise & Lasair

Elise and Lasair happen across a stonework booth with a fine chess set. The pieces are all finely carved in marble, using Archons and Demons as the pieces for white and black. The carver was a bit exageratory of various features, and most pieces do not appear to be wearing much clothing if any, but the craftsmanship is marvelous.

OOC: Best Rant Ever. And probably :)

"Ohhh, I think I know what this game is. Its like the room that one of my friends from my travelling days told me about. Apparently, he ran across not one, not two, but eight trap rooms with this game, all built independently by unoriginal, cliched, and hackneyed insane sorcerers in their towers--he says that all sorcerers are intrinsically unoriginal due to their stupidity and their stagnant spell list--all 8 of the rooms forced him and his comrades to play as the pieces, and they could die if the other pieces took them over. But he said that after the third time, he learned how to check for the mate or something really really quickly, and the other five evil sorcerers just wondered how he made it past the trap so fast."

"So I guess all I remember from that is that I am supposed to try to check for the mate, and if I find the mate, then I win. Sounds like a very friendly game!"

Well, it's not that friendly. Check Mating means killing or capturing the king. Which would be pointing at the largest meanest looking demon and this one pointing at the largest most elegant Archon, How much sir/ma'am?

I would like to learn stones also, have you had much practise at it, Lasair?

OOC:
[sblock]What a second... which features are exagerated, and are the comicly exagerated or is there just a lot of emphasis on them? I wouldn't want a chess set with all the peices having giant "noses"

And thankyou Bront, I had alot to answer for[/sblock]

"It is called the king and not the mate? Oh...the king is like a chief, right? It is disrespectful to kill a chief, so I guess I'd rather just capture him without killing him--is there any way to make sure?"

(OOC: I figured the exaggerated features might be most prominent on the succubus pieces, what with the emphasis on the nudity, but then again, that doesn't exclude the possibility of priapic male figures)

Yes a chief, though now that I think about it, you kill every piece but the king-chief, that one you capture, but I'll show you all of that later

OOC: That's at least the third time you've mentioned succubi today
