Fey hexblade question

On the "Expertise" front, I wonder why Versatile Expertise doesn't show in CB for the Fey Hexblade? Seems to be the sort of class it was truly meant for.

Naah, the Hexblade's rules are centered around a foundation that they only need a single Expertise feat - probably an Implement. Versatile Expertise is wasted, and sub-par compared to Rod Expertise.

Well, I used the encounters campaign option which limits me to HotFK and HotFL. So it won't show up for me regardless. I'm still trying to find out if I'll be allowed to use essentials material from dragon.

The DM doesn't like dragon to begin with, and is pushing for essentials only since he feels we are too powerful using just core books. So I'm aiming to show him that it's the edition and not the characters.

I had missed Rod Expertise, because when I built a Hexblade it showed up under ARMOUR FEATS(?). Admittedly the shield bonus to AC and Reflex is nice, and I had missed that the powers seem to have both implement and weapon keywords.
