Well, those rewards do seem fitting. And interresting. I Suggest you at an appopriate time give the Fighter an Xp bonus of 500-1000 XP. Make sure you give it to him just after he has gained a level.

As for the winter shade, it was inspired by the following song:

'A hazy shade of Winter' as performed by the Bangles, the original is of course by Simon and Garfunkle, but I prefer the Bangles version. :D

You would be surprised how many ideas one can get from listening to music from the 80's :D

Actually I got inspired by the Bangles rendition of the song, not Simon and Garfunkel. 'Cause the Bangles version is better :D

Not that it matters much...

Kita..who?

Kitaro is a great, japanese drum-player, who mostly makes music using traditional japanese drums. He's made many orcestra and instrumental hits, including the soundtrack for 1492 - Conquest of Paradise. tsk tsk tsk.... Krisnath.....

Ill get one of your Wintershades to gate the part of your brain that contains your musical epicenter to the Fey dimension, so that it can be taught and trained.

Oh, yeah, but do you listen to Vivaldi? or know who Queen Adreena are? Or even know who created rock and roll?

But I will probably end up listening to Kitaro sooner or later... :D

Well, I probably know Vivaldi better than I know who number #1 is on the MTV chart at the moment. Seems the quality of music has been on a decline lately for some reason :(

I agree with you about the music, as far as I am concerned music reached it's apex in the 80's and has been in decline ever since...

As for the spells, I have seen them, although I feel that the one that animates dead also is undercosted. IMHO I would peg it as a level 9 spell rather than a level 7 (Ice Storm Lvl 4 + Animate Dead lvl 5 = level 9).

Later,

Hmm, you must be taking about Ukast's Winterdeath. Well, the damage is only 5d6 (few would pay a 4 th. level spell slot for something dealing 5d6 points of damage). The Animate Dead effect is the same as the spell, so that could arguably be a lvl 5.

But, in accordance with the cost of scrolls / wands, it seems that spells increase rapidly in power as they increase in level, so it didn't seem unfair to make it a level 7 spell. After all, the spells it would have to be competing against in level 8 and 9... hmmm. Its already in the same category as Meteor Swarm and Limited Wish. I was thinking of making a Greater Winterdeath spell, that summons Wraiths instead of skeletons, making it a level 9 spell. Wouldn't be so good if the skeleton version was level 9 as well...

The reason I made it a level 7 spell for clerics, even though they have easier time Animating Dead, is that they normally have a harder time inflicting damage with their spells. So, it had to be high level just because of those 5d6 points of damage.

You ever make spells or magic items Kris? Or are you a creature-hugger kinda guy?
