[FFG] 4.95 Legends & Lairs Mastercraft Anthology

Rob's introduction thread was getting carried away with Mastercraft discussion, so I figured it deserved it's own thread with a brief recap:

Fantasy Flight is publishing the Legends & Lairs Mastercraft Anthology, a 144 page full-sized softcover that retails for just $4.95. The Mastercraft Anthology will contain exerpts and chapters from the first ten Legends & Lairs hardcover books. Everything in here is a fully playable preview of the Legends & Lairs books.

That's correct -- just under five bucks. If you're missing a few of the Legends & Lairs books (or, shame on you, all of them) this is an ideal way to check it out, see what's there, and get a pile of stuff to use in your game.

This is absolutely great. Two questions.

1) Where can I buy it? I'll check out your website but if it is not there please tell me where I can get it.

2) Why are you doing this? If you don'y want to tell me your trade se rets that is fine but I keep reading how expensive it is to print books, how companies don't make any money, how $40 for a book isn't alot,etc.etc.

I think this is great idea.

Hi Joe,

You can buy the book from our site, and you should also be able to find it at your local game store. If you can't, make sure to ask them why not.

The book gives gamers an inexpensive opportunity to check out our Legends & Lairs line. Obviously, we're hoping that some will like what they see and pick up some of the books. Think of it like a computer game demo (or 10 of them, to be exact), except we can't actually afford to give it to you for free.

As to how we can afford to sell it for $4.95...frankly, we couldn't, if it were a new book. However, the writing and art are already paid for, so we only have to pay for the printing.

I have them all, done reviews on most of them, and I'm still tempted to pick it up. It's not just an add to get people to buy the books, it has some good info in it.
