Looks like Portals & Planes from Fantasy Flight Games is hitting the shelves this week. Anyone scored a copy yet from which they can share first impressions?

Haven't seen it in a store yet, but I'm sure to pick it up. I hope this one has less of a focus on classes/PrC's than Sorcery & Steam though - Some of that is OK, of course, but I'd be more interested in new ideas and rules for the planes themselves, planar items etc...

PS - Gro - you shop at Legends in Vallco?

I do, but they sure don't seem to order anything new in: Gamescape has had in the new Necromancer Games books being printed/distributed by Troll Lords, but Legends hasn't had anything of the sort yet. I don't think they've had anything new in for quite awhile....

So, I take it you're local? :D

Yeah, I live in Santa Cruz, but am "over the hill" 2-3 days a week. Gamescape is a great store, but I rarely get that far north. I have been getting my comics from Legends for years... I agree, they have seemed to slow their 3rd party d20 stuff a bit...

I stopped in tonight, and they did have a few new books: one of the new NG modules---A Lamentation of Thieves---as well as some of the new Monte Cook/AU support books. But that was about it :/

I didn't buy LoT because I'd just picked up a bunch of used modules at Palo Alto Gamescape, and didn't want my wife to roll my salt after flaying me ;)

My FLGS (Game Habitat, in Monterey) seems to have not gotten some stuff recently, too -- haven't seen Unholy Warrior, for (only one) example. Maybe it's a distributor problem -- they might share one bad distributor, perhaps.

Thanks for the info about Legends, BTW; I was thinking of maybe taking a trip up that way to look for stuff. :) How about Game-a-Lot in Santa Cruz?

I'm pretty sure that Legends has just cut back on ordering ( I game with the owner! ) a bit.

D&J Hobby in Campbell has really hit the crapper since the old RPG guy left - don't expect to find anything new in 3rd party stuff there...

I also really like Game-A-Lot in Santa Cruz, but they also seem to have cut their ordering back too. They always order at least one or two of everything new, but the hot stuff sells out in the first day or few after release, and not much seems to get reordered.

Sooo - I guess I should somewhst get back On Topic : Anyone out there seen Portals & Planes yet?

Nope. I was at the FLGS this afternoon, and they hadn't gotten it in.

I don't know Game A Lot, where are they located?

Downtown Santa Cruz on Pacific ( The main concourse ) near Book Shop Santa Cruz. Pretty good store... They occasionally have some good deals on d20 overstock http://www.gamealot.com/

I stopped by there today, and didn't see P&P yet. I did notice It's available for sale on http://enworld.rpgshop.com/ though, so maybe I'll buy it online... I'm thinking about Atlas' Crime & Punishment too...
