I just bought this today and it's pretty cool. I'm intrigued by the concept of the alt.core class Devoted Illusionist, and am wondering if anybody else is using it and what their results were?
The Devoted Illusionist core class gives up all access to schools except Universal and Illusion, but gets metamagic level reductions and other special abilities. Other school spells can only be gained by taking an Opposed Spell feat, which is pretty harsh (I'd allow a number of opposed spells up to Int mod for each feat taken).
I'd like to adapt something like this for other schools of magic like Enchantment and Conjuration in particular.
