The next thing you see from Creature Collection 4e will be the actual product, since we've doubled the team putting it together!

COOL---how long b-fore we can order it?

I'm lookin forward to it---the original 3.0 CC was my first "monster book"---i cantwait for the 4E version---

Do all the critters have "fluff" like the preview we got to see? (I was one of those who was not happy w/thelack of fluff in the 4E MM---especially on those critters that seem to change greatly from 3/3.5E to 4E)

Man I am so waiting for this to come out, so I can but my FLGS to get it in.

They don't carry much 3rd party stuff, but the last one I ordered "The Advanced Player's Guide" they ordered 6 more besides mine, and sold them all. Hopefully that will happen here too. :)

There are varying ammounts of fluff. The ones that deserve it most (like the asaatthi) get more fluff space.

I've really been looking forward to the creature collection since its annoucment. It might be one of the few products I pick up in print format. Especially if the mithral golem is there, as well as the goddess of shadows (who's name I can't spell since I don't have my old copy of the books on hand).

Are there only monsters from the 1st Creature Collection, or are there monsters from CC2, CC3, other 3.X Scarred Lands sourcebooks, new monsters ?

Are there guidelines to play monstruous races like in the Monster Manual ? (asaath, ratmen, etc)

Monsters are drawn from all three original Creature Collections - our goal was to take what we thought were the best entries and include those. However, we didn't include any gods, so sorry for all you Drendari and Corean fans...

When I was working on the book, I started building an appendix of guidelines for playing some of the monstrous races, but I decided not to include it for various reasons. There's a good chance that may come later as a PDF supplement or something, though.

Also, further news on the R&R book - I've just been pulled in to help work on that, as well, since it had been held up for too long. I will start working on it shortly, but it will definitely be pushed back: I won't have much time to devote to it till the end of February.

Cheers,

Hey - sorry, swamped at work, so little time to monitor forums. :)

When you say "archetypes," do you mean templates? If so, then yes, there are several: Envenomed Beast, Hex Creature, Hydran Beast, Multi-Armed, and Soulless.

Cheers

its been a couple of weeks since we last heard anything on the new creature collection. So what is going on with it? Any chance for a release date? Or another preview? though I'd be more then happy with a status update

We're adding another 20 pages of content to the book. Half of the new illustrations are already done, and half of the new monsters are statted up. We're pushing real hard to get the page count near 200.

cool, I'm glad to hear that work is progressing well. I can't wait for this book, I'm buying it before the monster manuel. Is it still on time or is it being pushed back?

Like Rocky said, "it ain't over til it's over". We're doing our best to offer a clear layout, lots of monsters and lots of art.

I'm glad to hear it, I'm just impatient, there are so few good 4E products coming out (by my perspective), and this is one I want to buy in print format.
