Fiery Dragon & other Creature Counters- how to store them?

I use a binder with the clear plastic card holder thingys. Thery're relatively cheap and allow for several of the same monster to be kept in the same slot. Any bigger counters (like the colossal dragons that we sold in a Special Edition Dragon pack at Gen Con) I keep in the binder slot. This method is not fool proof, however as you have to be careful that the binder always rests "up" for fear of any errant counters slipping out. For me though, I like this method because everything can be organized quite well and you can see any particular counter right away. For games, I select what I need and keep them in this spiffy wooden box for transportation (along with all my dice and stuff).

Tackle boxes are cool, but I doubt you could find one big enough that could store ALL of the counters (and the hundreds more that are soon to come in future editions). Even then, if you did find one, it would be a monster and I don't now how well that would store. Binders, on the other hand, love book shelves. But then, this really depends on just how many you've acquired (both Jason and James have had recent editions to their respective families, so don't be afraid to support the cause;)).

Bill's right about the Chessex lexans. They were pretty cool but unfortunately, I can't remember their price. The only reason why we didn't stock up on them was due to limited space for the trip home. Yes, very handy.

Cheers!:)

Me too! Works like a charm. I recently started using the photo slide ( holds the bordered negatives ) version of the clear binder inserts, and they are even more efficient. I use a small piece of tape to partially seal any troublesome openings (preventing fall-out ) , as it's not a big deal to reseal them with more tape later.

I use computer disk holder inserts for larger than 10x10 monsters.

I now have over 1000 counters in a 3" binder, and I can see all of them.

Now if only we can convince Fiery Dragon to go back to the perforations, I can perhaps save myself from future severe cases of cramping and arthritis :D

Really? I wasn't sure when they were due (well, when their wives were - whose names I can't remember so I feel like a heel :( ); please pass on my congratulations!

I usually use lightweight plastic boxes with removable dividers; another place to find them in all different sizes is in the fishing section of Wal-Mart, Kmart or Target. They usually have several different sizes. The ones roughly 8 x 12 are more than enough for storing both Counter Collections plus others; I use a mix of these, Cardboard Heros and some DragonScale counters (excellent value by the way, and very durable).

The removable barriers are a must, because then you can configure the box to hold the Large and Huge counters as well as the normal Medium, etc ones. That still leaves more than enough for decent sorting. There's easily room for five or six sets in these.

Rubber Worm\ Lure Binders

Another idea from the world of fishing.

Instead of using a plastic tackle box with dividers try a rubber worm\lure binder. They zip up completely and contain a number of plastic bag leaves that you can put stuff in. These would fit easily into a backpack or a brief case. They come in a number of sizes and are fairly inexpensive.

If you don't know what I am talking about run over to Walmart in the spring (when they have lots of fishing stuff) and ask them for a rubber worm binder or call up Bass Pro Shop (anytime).

Those look great. Similiar to the binder, but much more secure AND waterproof (not to mention easy to carry). I'll have to take a look next spring.

Methinks that we at FDP have to put a little section up on our site that addresses this topic. Thanks.

Cheers!
