An unneeded elevation of available-to-player magic.In other words, I found AIME as poor a fit as MERP was for Middle Earth - but without the excellence as a game MERP had if one ditched the Middle Earth setting.At least with MERP, if you dropped the Tolkien, you had Rolemaster Lite, not otherwise available at the time.
