Everything anybody’s ever known about you is a lie…

“Get inside, quickly,” the youth told his friends. “That thing is too big to follow us.”
Katrina and Noslo did as they were told, and he called forth more power to create a small whirlwind that picked up and moved Arawn to him.
“You too, get down there. I’ll close the way behind us.” The xendauni nodded and rushed inside as well.
Turning back, Zen didn’t concentrate on a spell. Instead, he simply willed the power from himself and directed it at the entrance of the cave.
With blinding speed, the formless, black monster was in front of him, as if the burst he called forth had literally drawn it to that spot. In the same moment he unleashed his uncontrolled magic, it reached into the cave mouth and grabbed his shoulder.
A familiar sensation began to spread from where the creature was grabbing him and Zen could feel himself changing.
That was when the wall came down on them both.

… What would you do to protect them from the truth?

Thank you CMG. We've still got a couple available for anybody who hasn't had an opportunity to grab one yet.

Good news! Proof reading is done on Zen's Heritage. We're moving on to editing and art completion next... Soon, all will be clear.

In addition to a new mini-excerpt over at Northwinter Press, we've added the chapter art for both Zen's Heritage and Arawn's Quest. You can view it here (above) or there (with minor spoilers on mouseover). Enjoy!

300 views! Thanks everybody!

The way I see it,

For every 3 people who click to view the thread, I can believe that there will be 1 who continues on to take a look at the novel for themselves.

If one of those 5 then actually download a copy, I'm up to 20 downloads so far here at EnWorld. With luck, 3 or 4 of those will do one or more of the following:

Like Northwinter Press on Facebook
Get Book 2
Provide feedback through one medium or another.

So, 20 or more people out there, have you been able to enjoy Arawn's Quest as of yet, or are you waiting for time to read it?

So, for those who haven't quite found their way to Northwinter Press, Ed's already working on Book 3, and we've got a big surprise in regards to that project...

He's actually writing Children of Destiny as 2 novels! Originally, Children of Destiny was going to be the third and final novel in the Zen Chronicles, but in order to preserve the quality of detail that has been set in the first two books we have decided to split the remaining story into a total of 3 novels, with the Children of Destiny being two of those.

Children of Destiny: Born of the Elements and Children of Destiny: The Highborn King will take place at the same point in the story from where we left off with Zen's Heritage. The really cool part of this split is that these two novels will be interchangeable. That is to say, you can get a copy of each Children of Destiny Book and read whichever you want first. A friend can read the other and you can each switch afterward without missing anything between you.

Ed is very excited to be working on this new arc of the Zen Chronicles, and with our continued dedication to the series, we're confident you will continue to enjoy it as well!

Thank you
