Finding people to play with in WoW

I know that some people here play World of Warcraft. I just started getting into it myself, and while I'm having a lot of fun I haven't had much luck finding people to play with. Sure, sometimes I randomly group with people, but usually after the quest is over we never see each other again. I joined a guild when someone randomly invited me into it, but I'm not liking it much and it seems like it's full of school-aged kids who all stopped logging on once school started, so it's been very dead lately. I glanced at the guild forum on the WoW site and immediately gave up on finding anything there.

Are there a group of EN Worlders who regularly play together? I'm looking for a more mature, casual group who's just in the game to have fun and help each other out. Not much into PvP, personally. My main character is on Arathor (level 18 human priest), but I think I'd be willing to start over on another server if somebody knows of a really good guild who's looking for new members.

Are the only ways to find a guild limited to picking randomly, the awfully clogged WoW forums, or already knowing people in a guild?

Good guilds are always hard to find.

Guilds that randomly invite people (or even offer ranking positions in the guild just for joining them) usually suck like no tomorrow. You should probably just leave that one... ;)

Well, I play on Durotan - Alliance side, and we are a friendly family Guild....

If you move look for Thuren That is me - Dwarven Hunter - 70
We have members of all levels and we help each other out... :)

Feel free to look me up: Sondin on Argent Dawn
Guild: Warriors of Lost Fate

It'll be up to you to decide if our guild is right for you. We're very casual, most of us are friends or friends of friends.

First, /gquit. If you're not happy with that guild, leave.

Second, check out the guild recruitment channel. Guilds will also occasionally advertise in the Trade channel in cities, because no one subscribes to the guild recruitment channel. (Yes, there is a risk of Chuck Norris and Murloc jokes and other annoying things)

Third, check the realm forums. Often guilds will recruit there, too; usually those are more endgame guilds looking for healbots, but not always.

Be sure what you're looking for in a guild, too. Are you looking for people to hang out with when playing? Are you looking to level together with a bunch of people (which is what it sounds like to me)? Are you looking to hit endgame content as fast as you can and make Nihilum look like a bunch of amateurs?

My guild (Clan Bonsai, on Alliance Malygos) is primarily composed of people who knew each other from Asheron's Call 1 & 2, and has developed into being made primarily of RL friends of friends and whatnot. We're absurdly casual, mostly doing our own things and occasionally running instances; we've just now gotten started on Karazhan.

I'm the guildmaster of a new guild on Blood Furnace. It's a pvp server, and currently the guild has about 6 or 8 active members. If you'd like to join us, we're always looking for mature members. We're not into raiding, but the few members are all really nice people. Logon and send Taggert a message if you are interested.
