Finishing Off the Mimics

That all sounds good.

Updated with the changes.

I'm wondering whether we should increase its speed. With a 10 ft. ground speed it may have great difficulty catching anyone to crush. The original juggernaut could travel up to move 12", but had to slowly accelerate 3" at a time.

At the very least it should be faster than a regular mimic, since it has wheels.:p

How about giving it a move of 20 ft., with Run and Fleet of Foot as bonus feats? We could swap the Run for one of its feats, like Combat Expertise, but can't give it Run 'cause its Dex is too low.

Hold on, it's ineligible for Combat Expertise since it doesn't have Int 13+.

Double hold on, my Greater Mimic doesn't have Int 13 either! I'll edit it from Int 12, Wis 15 to Int 13, Wis 14.

Make it so, dropping Combat Expertise. That feat seems incredibly odd for what is essentially a steamroller!

Any changes to the special qualities?

We should keep the immunity to acid, but I think we should downgrade the immunity to fire/electricity to resistance since it's only got a stony skin instead of being made out of actual magical stone.

I'd rather keep the DR and SR, although I could see changing the type of the DR - maybe to magic and bludgeoning?

Would like to increase the fast healing to 15, maybe even more, since it's an amorphous living creature.

That adds up to:

Special Qualities: All-around vision, damage reduction 10/magic and bludgeoning, fast healing 15, immunity to acid, resist electricity 15, resist fire 15, spell resistance 36

Did any of the other mimics have spell resistance? If not, I'd drop it. Ditto for the energy resistances. I picture these things as big mimics that take the shape of a juggernaut, not living, amorphous juggernauts. YMMV.

Boosting fast healing seems fine.

Do these have any shapechanging powers at all?

If they didn't before, I feel they should.

I'm afraid this is a case where they took an existing monster (the juggernaut) and tried to cram it into another creature's "family" to make grouping easier. The juggernaut works great as a construct...but to be a mimic, it should really be able to "mimic" stuff, no?

The Greater Mimic has spell resistance.

All mimics have immunity to acid.

I don't mind dropping the energy resistance if push comes to shove.

Okie-dokey.

I think I'd agree with Shade here.

Yes they do, but it's a lot slow than a regular Mimic.

From what I remember, it could grow a pseudopod or change a limb (e.g. from a claw to a trumpet) in ~10-30 minutes, and completely change its body's appearance in an hour or two.

I was going to modify the Mimic Shape to reflect that.
