Because this is 2020, a fire tornado warning has been issued...

With the exploration pillar being talked about, I thought it would be the perfect time to ask what Edition of D&D would best benefit from having Fire Tornadoes in it?

Earlier editions would have no problem throwing these at PCs on a conceptual level, but I can't imagine how it would play out at the table.

I know 3rd Edition would most likely have specific rules made for dealing with it. I bet there are spells you could cast to defuse if you happen to have them memorized that day.

4E would handle it like it handles every non combat thing, by Skill Challenges.

Not sure how Fire Tornadoes would work in 5E though. I assume it would be highly dependent on the skill of the DM, for better or for worse.

What do you all think??

I wonder could the effect be simulated using spells like Flamestrike or Firestorm?
or even a large (16 ft) Fire Elemental could do it and have a 50ft movement speed
