Ah, forgot about that thread but it had decended into non-Firefly stuff anyway with the Chinese speak and all. New place to talk about it I guess

Plus, this gives us dates - while it may not be huge news about the 2005 release it is something. :)

Well, that and I didn't see that old thread in my hasty search for it. :p

Being on page one is a good thing. 2005 is looking to be a good year.

Excellent news. I just hope that Ron Glass and Alan Tudyk are a part of it. I can't imagine it without Wash and the Shepard.

Too true. Losing any of the characters would really hurt things. But if the DVDs were any indication, all the actors loved their roles and would go out of their way to reprise them. :)

2005 is looking better and better as the weeks roll by. With just Star Wars it would have been a great year but this is gravy on top of the gravy we already know is on the way. :)

From Cinescape Online:

It's like what happened to BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, except in reverse: Variety reports that Universal Pictures has given the greenlight to the big screen FIREFLY movie, now officially titled SERENITY. The film's budget is being reported at around "mid-eight figures", so let's call it more or less $50 million dollars.

Series creator Joss Whedon will direct the movie from his script, set approximately six months after the events seen in the last FIREFLY episode. Filming is now set to commence in June for an anticipated June 2005 release. Deals have already been ironed out for the majority of FIREFLY's cast to reprise their roles in the movie, including Nathan Fillion (Malcolm Reynolds), Gina Torres (Zoe), Jewel Staite (Kaylee), Adam Baldwin (Jayne), Sean Mahar (Simon) and Summer Glau (River). Not mentioned in Variety's article were cast members Alan Tudyk (Wash) or Ron Glass (Book).

More updated news... :D

I just got my wife last night to watch "Out of Gas." She liked it a lot! She even hinted she may be watching some more of the episodes later this week...

This will be some welcome news at home. :)
