Firefly Revival Confirmed

I like! Animation is an interesting choice, it does give them more flexibility that age wouldn't allow. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't happen, but I'll not invest myself too much into expectations. If it happens, great! If not, aww...

And even if this isn't for every old Firefly fan, just imagine the IP having a new boost and that might mean more (new) stories in other types of media, even the possibility of a new live-action series with a new cast (and possibly parts of the old cast). I'm just happy the cast is still alive! Similar hopes for series like Babylon 5 were quickly ended by reality...
No Ron Glass, sadly, so someone else will need to fill in as Shepherd Book.

I would be interested to see whether the way they portray the politics of the show will have shifted given the analysis we have had in the intervening years. The one thing that has me leery is any involvement with Whedon. How do you work around a series creator when the original show was so short?

By simply getting his blessings to use his creation, then not going back to him. They already have those blessings.

Star Trek has an animated phase, I’m looking forward to it.

I just read a good point that someone had, regarding Shepherd Book: There's could be quite a bit of time between the final episode of "Firefly", when he left for Haven, and its destruction. They could leave his character out entirely.
