Firefly Revival Confirmed

But I don't find "The Verse" all that compelling.
Certain aspects had 'potential', like the Reavers and certain other things that came to light during the series and movie. Also the cowboys in space had a nice ring to it. But they can polish it to a diamond or a turd, let's see what happens...
I heard the allegations. I don't really care about them. Either do the show with him or don't do it.
But others do, as such, your (or my) opinion doesn't matter.
Well, Wash was a fan favorite, and part of the core crew dynamic. I don't know that the show works without him, to be honest.
Yep, the crew wouldn't be the same. And if the other actors can handle him on set, why not?

And what kind of personality someone actually has in real life, that's not what I'm watching a show for. That's for the people on set to deal with, in the same way we set people straight in a regular business setting, either colleagues or you escalate it up. You generally don't go crying to your customers.... Some of the most likable characters on screen turn out to be some of the most unlikable people in RL... If I had to screen each TV series, film, books, game, artwork on everyone that's involved on their actual personality I would be playing in a corner with a cheese-grate... ;)

I wonder if folks check the life story of their cashier at the grocer and don't go to the grocer anymore if that doesn't fit their world view...

Um, I think you are confused. I was talking about Wash, played by Alan Tudyk, who hasn't done anything objectionable so far as I am aware.

Adam Baldwin, who played Jayne, is the questionable one.
Every single person has questionable actions or behavior during their lifetime.

Folks are free to go about their lives and opinions and make the judgements they need to make.

I am not going to discount people for their politics and will disagree with them.

Now, if they are a member of a confederate biker gang or a violent protest group or just hateful, then I am going to disassociate.

Everyone has their line but I really do believe in tolerance as a core concept.

For a lot of people, Adam Baldwin crossed the line into hateful.

I am not sure we really want this thread to become about Mr. Baldwin.

But this? This is a form of "whataboutism". What other people do, or don't do, does not stand as an excuse for someone's behavior. His behavior must stand or falter on its own merits.

I have not encountered any comments from him. Of course, I do not use or pay attention to social media either.

TikTok, Twitter, FB have just made the world more toxic and intolerant in general.

You did yourself a favor missing them then. Be that as it may, he did make those comments.
