That's all true, though I wonder how much of it is based solely on the force of Joss Whedon's name alone. Besides, the fact that it was given up by the network and rights were given to make a movie generally indicates they're not interested in keeping the property. And lord knows a station like Sci-Fi doesn't know jack about quality, so they likely won't pick it up. Yes, I'm still bitter about Farscape.Umbran said:Historically, TV shows that don't even make it through a full season don't make it onto the silver screen, either. Thisone isn't following anything like a standard pattern, so it's anyone's guess how things will go forward. Maybe it'll just be one movie. maybe it'll be a series of movies. Maybe it'll jump back to TV as a series of telemovies. Maybe it'll go back to being a series. The universe is filled with possibilities.

I liked the show, I will certainly watch and purchase the movie, and I definitely hope something remarkable DOES happen. But realistically it's not going to, and it's foolish to get hopes up based on a movie that might be made.
(EDIT: Clarified first paragraph)
