A few minutes ago I downloaded the new Firefox browser from Mozilla (In place of Safari and IE) and it loaded EN World faster than blitzkrieg! I havent seen the site load this fast in two years. So just based on that and some other nifty features, ill be viewing you guys Firefox style...

(man this comes off as a sales pitch...) :p

well I am running a Powermac G4 on 1.5MB cable and when I used Safari or/and IE It took two seconds longer to load (using my watch) So a. its Firefox or b. the Gig of RAM I just dropped or c. all the above. either way i am happy and I can just imagine how fast this will wil load when the new server is in place. :)

I just switched to Firefox at home as well, but it loads about the same.

I do think that Firefox can render pages a bit faster than IE, but not enough to really write home about.

I've become a complete Firefox fanboy. The tabbed browsing is perfect for the forums. I just ctrl-click on each of the threads I want to read and they each open in a separate tab. I start reading the first one to load and the rest are finished long before I'm ready to look at them, even when the site is slow.

Can the server tell us what percentage of users are using Firefox (or at least a Netscape-based browser)?

Welcome to the club! Pay no attention to those browsers out in the hall, they are just mad that we have decided that we don't need to put up with their problems any longer. :)

I have recently started using Firefox because that is what they use at the job I am at, I like it enough to want to switch on my computer at home, the only downfall is not having the plugins that let me play games on the internet, like MSN, Yahoo, Pogo.... oh well, I guess IE still has some uses after all. Though I will say I noticed this site pull up a little faster with Firefox.

I use Avant, and it does that, too. All I have to do to bring up a new window is a simply click of the mouse scroll. Firefox looks nice...but I cannot abandon my wonderful Avant...

 I'm a bit surprised you would credit Firefox with this and only mention later that you just got a gig of RAM added to your PC. I mean, that's a bit more obviously the answer to why its loading faster, doncha think?
