Firefox and EN World

Firefox is now by browser of choice. I have it set to middle click to open new taps, and middle click the top of the tab to close it. Now I only need one window, and I can close any tabs I don't need with a single click. Ahhhhh....

A few minutes ago I downloaded the new Firefox browser from Mozilla (In place of Safari and IE) and it loaded EN World faster than blitzkrieg! I havent seen the site load this fast in two years. So just based on that and some other nifty features, ill be viewing you guys Firefox style...

(man this comes off as a sales pitch...) :p

I switched to Firefox and haven't noticed a speed change either. It certainly is absolute kryptonite for popups, Spyware and viruses though.

G'day all,

I too am an Avant user, tried out an earlier iteration of Firefox but had problems with IE specific sites etc. Avant builds and improves on IE so you don't have any problems with loadng IE optimised sites but the security is tighter and pop-ups etc are blocked.

But the bottom line is that IE could learn a lot from both browsers.

*GASP!* Another actually exists! Quickly, we must disguise outselves before we are discovered and purged! ;)

I think we should bind, gag, and summarily execute the entire corporate staff of microsoft by repeatedly poking them with overcooked zucchini. Such are their products. But that's just me.

Yeah, I'm joking. But they're still a bunch of overpaid non-working leeches who should BURN BURN BURN!!! >_<

Plus Firefox is cool. :D

 I'm a bit surprised you would credit Firefox with this and only mention later that you just got a gig of RAM added to your PC. I mean, that's a bit more obviously the answer to why its loading faster, doncha think?

Well no because I installled the GIG of RAM before I Installed Firfox (About a Day before.) Afterwords, I then opened EN World with Firefox, IE, Safari and Netscape. Firefox seems to load the fastest. I do admit the RAM helps though...
:uhoh:

When I switched to Firefox, the better speed became apparent when I went to yog-sothoth.com - the scrolling "latest post" window runs about twice as fast as IE.

Of course, this computer is ancient (4 years old). On a newer computer it might load about the same.

Before my Dell committed ritual suicide just a month after the warranty expired (GRRR! Never. Dell. Again.), I was running Firefox and I loved it. With my new Apple iBook though, I love Safari. It does just about everything that Firefox does and has built-in connections to Apple Mail and Address Book to boot. And now that Gmail has POP support so I can use it with Mail, I think I win the Internet.
