Firefox extensions

Having to re-download all the extensions I had for Firefox, after a format, and was wondering what everyone considers "essential"

There is a FireFox plugin that will give you the status on Abe Vigoda and tell you, with a convenient icon in the bottom of your browser, whether he's dead or alive.

Currently, Abe is alive!

A more interesting spin-off is reporting on the life (or vegetative, as it may be) status of Terri Schiavo at www.nik-martin.com/terristatus/. I wonder if the creator of this page has access to firsthand information about her state?

What I have currently is:

Chatzilla: easy access to IRc
Adblock: blocks ads
User Agent Switcher: shows you being on different browsers
Secure Password Generator: makes passwords
Gmail Notifier: lets you know when you have email on Gmail
Bloglines Toolkit: "subscribe" to blogs
IGNBQ: for IGN
Web Developer*: web design
Blogthis: to blog websites
Bookmarkthis Synchronizer: great to synch 2+ PC's with bookmarks
Firefoxview: IE to FF viewing
ieview: FF to IE viewing
TinyURL Creator: make long URL's short
Flashblock: play Flash when you want too
Wayback*: go back to a previous page
Gcache*: look something up in google's cache

The one's with stars I haven't used yet, so I don't know how well they do or run.

You definitely need the alt-tag popup enhancement I mention in the other thread. Fantastic for browsing Enworld.

The absolute essentials for me are:

- Adblock (use it to block ads from even appeaing on a page)
- Download Manager Tweak (Allows more download manager options, as well as opeing the download manager in a sidebar)
- PRGoogleBar (Adds a Google Toolbar with far more options than the default search box)
- Tabbrowser Preferences (gives you more control over how Tabs are used)

There are also a few I find incredibly useful, but wouldn't classify as "essential":

- ForecastFox (shows you weather conditions and forcast in your status bar)
- infoRSS (view RSS feeds in a scrolling ticker at the bottom of your Firefox window - great for keeping up-to-date on news, including the latest in EN World)
