First Freddy VS Jason, Now This...

Nah. But what I think would be cool is if we had Morgan Le Fay (the arthurian badass) up against Pinhead. Now THAT would be interesting. ;) She certainly has an air of menace.

For some reason, AMC keeps showing the Halloween movies over and over and over and over and over and over. (Nevermind that there are literally 100s, probably 1000s of better horror movies that aren't shown, period).

Anyway, having watched probably most of the movies at one time or another, I never really understood just what Michael Myers was. Originally he was just a crazed killer, but now he's like a super-zombie, like Jason.

Yes, Pinhead vs. Michael Myers does seem kind of silly.
Pinhead is on a whole different level of power than poor Myers. Virtually a demon prince of hell.
Myers would make a pretty good cenobyte though :D

Pinhead vs. Warlock wouldn't be too bad if it had a good script.
Pinhead vs. Damien from the Omen movies would be interesting.
Perhaps against the Children of the Corn.

Thats about it for supernatural characters that have movie series.

The only uber-powerful, supernatural baddie that I can think of who would be able to take on Pinhead is Freddy.

Of course, if they ever did meet, they would probably like each other immediately and become fast friends. :)

Actually, it reminds me a of comic story back in the early '90s. There was a time when the Punisher and Moon Knight met. They were both following independent leads and ended up running into each other.

Usually, when two heroes meet, they always end up fighting due to some misunderstanding. It's the unwritten comics rule. And, in this case, it was a perfect set up to a fight, with both stumbling upon each other in the villain's lair.

Nope. Instead, they shook hands and talked about how they always wanted to work with each other.

If Freddy met Pinhead, he'd probably end being offered a job as a Cenobite.

Actually, there is a way for the 2 of them to come into conflict. Freddy might be too chaotic for the Cenobites. I can picture either A.) Pinhead is dispatched to eliminated Freddy for disrupting the order of things, or B.) Freddy is made into a Cenobite but is too unstable and begins screwing up things by not following the rules.

And what makes the Hellraiser franchise so interesting is that there are other Cenobites than Pinhead (Freddy could off some of the lesser ones before meeting up in the big battle with Pinhead).

Beyond Freddy, the Warlock series was never that big. Leprechaun? No, that would be stupid. The Evil Dead would be interesting. Re-Animator? Hmmm...that one has possiblities.

I'm not really sure that pinhead is actually all that powerful. Sure a normal mortal is pretty much helpless against him, but his chains don't seem to be exactly indestructable (HR2- Even if it was another cenobite) and he was never really shown as a killing machine in either of the movies (only 1 & 2 count) or the original novella.

I always thought that the scary part about the cenobites is their utter lack of mercy or compassion, there is a certain "alien" feel to them in that they simply don't view the the universe in a way that we can understand or share. They are going to torture you forever and spend an eternity finding new ways to bestow pain upon you. One of the things that Clive Barker understood so well and that is missing from the other "Horror" legends, is the fact that your mind can terrify you far more than any words or pictures. True horror comes from that.

The cenobites belong in the shadows providing menace, not slugging it out in a fist fight. The threat of what they MIGHT do to you is much scarier than anything that a script writer is likely to come up with.

MM on the other hand is simply yet another unstoppable killer. His movies are simply an exercise in showing various ways to kill people. There really is no thought or mythology behind it. Jason at least is THE Iconic masked unstoppable killer, even if his movies really aren't any better than the MM movies. Freddie has a mythology behind him and some thought involved in the character and history. So he gets more credit than the simple killers. He's the only one who really might work in a VS with Pinhead, because he is and does more than simply go around chopping up people while it's demonstrated that he can't be destroyed.

I personally think Damien versus Pinhead might be cool. Certainly the Anti-Christ versus the Demon Prince of Hell has a nice little air of "Oooh..." to it.
