Folks sorry about my bad english, in not may native tongue.
I Made This post to share ideas for encounters, i show you mine, and you show me yours.... get it?

Kobols Assassins (medium encounter for lvl 5)
A group of 08 kobolds come flyng in a Wyvern to kill the party during the night. They all stuck togheder in the back of Two Kobold Scale Sorceror

Four of the six kobolds will engage the group.
Two of them will use the help action for the wyvern atacks
The two sorcerors will have expedious retreat, using spell from a distance in the casters of the group.
The idea of the encounter is the coordenation of the kobolds make the wyvern way more dangerous.
It is cool too if you change the spells of the sorcerors, something like reflexes or flaming sphere would make a lot of damage in combat.

Here are some random encounters I put together for use when my Planescape PCs are wandering around the Infinite Staircase. Roll 1d10. (Some of these encounters refer to my specific rules for Activities While Traveling.)

1. A gray, hairless cat with two small horns protruding from its head. This exotic cat accidentally passed through a doorway onto the Infinite Staircase, leaving its owner far behind. Now it wanders aimlessly, looking for food and possibly a new owner. Its collar says it's named Graysac.

2. A young human girl named Frigg has wandered onto the Staircase by accident. She comes from a prime world subjugated by giants and speaks only Giant. Frigg is scared of others, but can be won over. She likes to draw and is quite good at it, so she can Draw a Map for the PCs while traveling if given the proper supplies.

3. A gnome traveler, Enbo Tinkpickle, coming from where the PCs are headed. He's in a bit of a hurry but if he can be made to talk, he can help the PCs Find the Flights, reducing the remaining travel time by 1 hour.

4. Inert warforged that calls itself Feedback. If repaired, he's excellent at helping with tasks and can Work Together with another character; however, cannot resist constantly commenting on the state of things and asking for input on a scale of 1 to 10. Feedback has a habit of making an irritating high-pitched squeal periodically, making stealthy movement impossible.

5. Fertyl, a Lillend, warns them of a monster ahead (determined randomly) which they can choose to confront or avoid, but only if they demonstrate inspirational creativity.

6. A grick alpha and 2 gricks that wandered through a door from a prime world covered in ruins. These specimens can hide in plain sight when on the Staircase. They've set up an ambush for anyone traversing the platform where they hide.

7. Clay golem on a mission for a proxy of Lei Kung, a power of Vengeance on Acheron. The dark of its eyes are actually six black pearls worth 500 gp each. It won't attack except to defend itself.

8. A night hag, Baggy Nana, leading a mezzoloth to a prospective buyer. She will entertain offers for the mezzoloth's service, but she's more interested in souls and pledges to perform some wicked service than gold. She will brook no trouble from the PCs.

9. Two wood woads guarding a landing to a prime world dominated by a magical forest. Trees and grass can be found on the landings. The PCs can fight the wood woads to get past or find another route, adding 1d4 hours to their journey.

10. Two galeb duhr guarding a landing with a door to Lith, the Stone World. Boulders can be found strewn about. The PCs can fight the galeb duhr to get past or find another route, adding 1d4 hours to their journey.

the second encounter that i did was a Wizard's laboratory
Imagine a laboratory with various shelfs with material components
a table with alchemical components and lots of glasses, a pretty crowded room.
in the center in construction is a shield guardian without the medalion.
In the wall there is a spell of protection that invokes four Ice mephits.

the trick is there are four shelfs that a PC or the shield guardian can be trow
1- CD 12 dex - materials for alchemic fire 3d4 damage.
2 - CD 12 con - various poweders used to create magical items in the eyes! blind until the end of next turn.
3 - CD 12 str - various books fall in the character, proned.
4 - CD 12 dex - the glasses cause deep cuts - 1d8 damage.

The spell sotred in the Sheild guardian is Thunderwave, so he can trow the PCs in one of the hazards to show them that can be used.

I put out a book of 10 unusual drop-in encounter situations on DMsguild, along with two "teaser" encounters (which do not appear in the collection) formatted the same way.

They include a hill giant that has come across a headband of intellect and is seeking revenge against people who demean and put down his kind,
a group of psionically trained skum servants transporting an aboleth infant from one settlement to another,
a procession of skeletons intent on reaching a gigantic throne in hopes of returning a lich to power,
a city made of giant blocks orbiting a mountaintop, in which an ancient oracle is said tor reside,
an insectoid mad scientist who enjoys "improving" its patients by replacing their body parts with enhancements of its own design,
what appears to be a non-magical wand that summons a creature that tries to bend any who touch the wand to darkness,
a sentient storm searching for revenge against a genie who jilted it in centuries past,
a swarm of rats that houses the essence of an evil fey creature, which is attempting to possess its entire number and enable the fey creature to return,
a trio of hags turned to large plants in the depths of a swamp, to which a certain wand and corrupting creature are trying to return,
and a swarm of tiny creatures whose unthinkable ruckus causes madness in any who encounter them.

The two one-offs are a warlock who warns the party against claiming a treasure they've rightfully won, spinning tales of doom, and
A ghost with magical power sworn to the service of Orcus, who lures travelers to her lair in hopes of adding them to a hideous living wall

The collection is $3.95 but the two one-offs are both pay-what-you-want. Links to all of them are in my signature.
