first time Artificer question

so i am getting the opportunity to play an Artificer for the first time and i am excited, i just have one quick question regarding the Metamagic Item infusion.

It seems like the spell trigger item i cast the infusion on just has the meta magic feat for the duration with no negatives (as in using extra charges). Is this actually the case or am i reading this incorrectly?
