Fish & Chips

Well it's not as if they sell glasses or mugs of alcohol :) Usually, you just drive in, tell the attendant what you want (maybe a slab of beer, a bottle of vodka, or something), hand him the money, and he goes gets it for you.
Oh, that. We got one of those here.

I don't think deep fried fish is that popular here in North America. Here in Winnipeg we have a local shop that has no indoor seating, but sells some of the best hamburgers and french fries I've had. I'm actually heading there later tonight :D Other than burgers and fries, it also sells ice cream/milkshakes. Not the healthiest place to eat, but the food is GOOD.
I'm guessing either Mrs. Mike's, or VJ's?

But yeah, what nick said. We don't have anything like that in Canada. For burgers and fries - yes, but fish is a somewhat more sketchy product...

EK, can you ship Dim Sims to America? They wife's originally from Melbourne, and complains about the lack of Dim Sims here in Florida. :p

SO I take it it's not the same as dim sum then?

OKAY!!! What the heck is a dim sim?!

A Dim Sim is Chinese, usually vegetables and who-knows-what-else wrapped in a pastry outer. You usually have them deep-fried, but they can be steamed as well.

Nope. Dim Sum is a method of eating. People wheel carts around and you pick and chose small plates filled with various dumplings, buns, fried goods, etc. You pay based upon the number of plates you accumulate.

Dim sims are as Chinese as chop suey. This isn't to say they're bad, but it's to say they're uniquely Austrailian.

Or as my wife said, "We rule you, round-eye!" :)
