Flanking

"Finally finished making my character for today's game. Got my AC up to 41 - I was pretty happy. And then he tells me we're using THAC0!"

W3rd, KaeYoss.

When I play D&D someone, really I want to play D&D, not thier remix version. I mean I don't mind a few tweaks here and there. I got a few myself. But if its more than a page I'm going to be kind of hesitant. That just makes me think they are going about something the hard way.

When I get a 2e player at my table who hasn't bothered to read the books and therefor inevitably asks - do I roll over or under that on an ability check my answer is always - over

I earned this evil dm hat and I'll wear it with pride thank you.

Bah... if someone hasn't played Nethack, that's their problem, and I don't care if they don't understand my diagrams :)
Hah! Must say that made me laugh. What are the 3E stats for a thrown kitten, I wonder?

My favorite flanking manuver made while I was DMing was this:

X1X
234
X5X

Numbers were PCs, X's were monsters. Specifically, wererat rogues. :D The PCs moved pretty quickly at that point.
