@Jackinthequeen You seem to have misunderstood what I meant, if we use 1 thing from Dungeonscape then if any of the group want to use something from Dungeonscape it is allowed and since we don't have a copy for the DM to vet then he can't be sure that there isn't something open to abuse, does that make more sense?
Fair point I am looking into the Spell Compendium but at the moment Complete series except Scoundrel, Dragon Magic, Expanded Psionics Handbook, Unearthed Arcana (but only on DMs approval) and Miniatures Handbook. I may have missed some but those are off the top of my head
No to Faerun/Ebberon campaign settings, Dragon Magazine or Incarnum/Tome of Battle but there may be more
and the DM has said the Elf domain is OK if I worship Corellon
