FLGS in MIAMI

Guilberwood

First Post
Hi. I'm from Brazil, but I'll be visting the US in March. So, I was wondering if there was a good FLGS in Miami, this way I can catch up with my book collection without paying loads of money in shipping costs.

If you guys could tell me the adress of one or two FLGS in the Miami area it would be great. Emails and websites would help a lot too, as also stores that sells miniatures.

Thanks a lot

I live in Hollywood just north of Miami and I wish you hadn't applied the "good" descriptor to your request. North of Miami there's the Dragon's Lair which would fall under chaotic creepy and in Sunrise there's Past Present and Future(decent store but probably a little far for you). I don't have the address of either unfortunately. Maybe you can contact MrFilthyIke. I believe he is a Miami resident and might have a little more for you to go on.

I know there is a store further south near Miami, but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

The is also a store further north of PPP, called Tate's Comics. It's gaming section is small, but it's still worth a stop since it has a LOT of movie props, comic books and SF/F video rentals.

The website for Dragon's Lair is http://www.adventuregamestore.com and in the last two years it has greatly improved, more space and new management. It even won an award from the local entertaiment magazine.

Wow, thanks for remembering fafhrd. :)

Well, I shop at Dragon's Lair and Past, Present, Future. Both are good, but a bit far from N. Miami.

For Dragon's Lair, go north on I-95 to Griffin Rd, head west. When you get to 441/State Road 7, take a left. It is on the left, one stop-light south at 51st street. It's a traditional game store/board game store. Yes, the mall looks dumpy, but they keep the store nice and organized inside nowadays. :)

Past, Present, Future is a bigger store, but it half games/half-comics with collectible figs. To get there, go north on I-95 to Commercial, head west. When you get to University, go left(head south). Here is a map! :)

Tate's has very cool stuff, but the gaming store is small. It's only like 2 blocks SOUTH of P.P.F. However, the people working at Tate's need a reminder that, if you're going to sell pop culture and Japanese import stuff, make sure you know MORE about it than your customer. I stumped every employee with a toy request on my first trip. This toy takes out a 1 page ad in every issue of Toy Fare magazine. :\

But enough ranting, all three store are cool, but you must head in Broward to find gaming.
Waldenbooks and Borders don't count. :)

I like Dragon's Lair for my gaming needs. I find they stock pretty much anything I need/want, and if they don't have it, they can certainly order it quickly. The store is large, well-lit and organized (always a plus in my book), and the staff is generally knowledgeable.

Where in Miami will you be staying?

I'm not sure of the exact adress, I'll be staying in my uncle's house...I belive it's in Miami Beach.
I'll edit this post as soon as I get the exact adress tough.

Anyway, thank's a lot. I guys helped me a lot. I can't belive you actually got a map to help me out.

Many thanks

I feel like I'm starting to abuse on you guys, but I gotta ask this: IS there a buss I can take to get to one of this stores, or at least get me close enough so I can walk my way?

Oh, buy the way, I'll be staying at 291 bal bay drive, bal harbour village, zip code 33154

Is that good or bad?

Thanks a lot
See ya
