Taking the T to harvard square requires my driving to Alewife (which is practically the whole way there from here) paying 4.50 to park, and a dollar each way on the T for a total of 6:50 plus gas.

Or, parking across the street in the movie theatre parking lot for free, and walking over to the station to pay a buck each way. Not so great in winter, admittedly...

See, what I'm looking for is an alternative to having to deal with the aggrivation associated with the T and Harvard Square parking, when I need to get something quick. When I have time, I'll still drive to the square and go to pandemonium because I'm a member there and I can go to about 15 other places in the square and load up my trunk full of goodies.

I just need a closer place for quick trips. Besides, Pandemonium doesn't exactly have a great selection of miniatures.

Hobby Bunker is a gaming store in the middle of Malden square, usually plenty of free parking right on the street. They have a halfway decent selection of d20 stuff. They have a pretty good selection of minis, they are the only store that I know of in the area that carries Reaper minis, which are pretty good.

There's a pretty good gaming store in downtown salem, usually you can find a parking space right on the street but if not there are a couple of free parking lots around. I forget the name of the store, I think it was "something smoke shop". Well, now that I think of it I havent been to that store in a couple of years so I'm not even sure its there :)

Your Move Games in davis square has a decent selection of books and minis, but parking is sometimes tricky around there.

I hear you on parking in harvard square, man. What a pain! I never drive to Cambridge if it is at all avoidable :)

Malden? Cool. That's the next town over... I used to go to YMG twice a week to play magic. Then I decided that Crack was less addicting than magic so I quit :)

I'll have to check them out soon. What part of Malden Center? Is it that road behind the government building?

Something "Indian" Smoke Shop - to get us one step closer. The rather curious but extensive collection of gaming materials there, in combination with Harrison's Comics, makes Salem a veritable Mecca of New England Gaming. Don't forget to visit the "Witch House" (a historic house owned by the city and currently managed by my wife!) . . .

Red Lion Smoke Shop in Salem has a better selection of obscure d20 stuff.

Rock on! The Hobbybunker looks pretty well equipped and it's like a 10 minute, non-highway, very casual, drive from here. Exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks. Have to check out Red Lion the next time I take the wife to Salem Willows.
