Does the Flick of the Wrist feat (Comp Warrior I think) work against animals and vermin? My DM and I had a large disagreement over this.

It seems pretty straightforward to me; it does work on animals, vermin, and any other kind of creature. Why wouldn't it?

I don't think there is anything in the feat nor in Sleight of Hand that restricts it to a type of target.

What is he think is limiting it to intelligent opponents?

That is exactly the argument that was made.

Well, in that case he is right for his game. But the rules don't put that restriction on it. You will have to live with his house rule.
 

Well there is no reason why you couldn't "feint" against such an opponent so I fail to see why flick of the wrist wouldn't work.

An animal (intelligent of not) could be "fooled" by the fake movement involved in "feinting" so use that logic. Basically they are distracted by the movment. A real life comparison - how many times have people played with their dog and got them to chase a "fake throw"? It is common.
