Flip mats versus Tact Tiles

I'm a tact-tiles devotee. Though I'm sure the mat has it's place, it cannot be as versitile as the tiles. I tend to use them on an add-need basis, and we keep 1 tile just to record initiative and other things like buffs, summons, etc.

I recall someone from BC posting on this board that transparent Tacti-Tiles were in the works, but that was a while back. That would sure be sweet.

Couple of things about Tact-Tiles:

They are not all that portable. They're bulky and somewhat heavy and require foam separators between them to prevent the lamination from wrinkling or peeling.

Marks erase a little TOO easily off these. Way too easy to smear.

But having said that, I love'em.

I like my tact-tiles too, but I'll chime in with a few cons as well:

I agree they're a bit heavy.

Grid lines are too thick, IMO

I don't recommend rolling dice on them. And all my friends....keep...doing it....
