FLOWCHART: Navigating NPR's Top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy Books

Slightly off-topic, perhaps - but we gamers tend to like reading fantasy and science fiction. To that end, SF Signal has created an enormous flowchart (with 100 end points and over 325 decision points) to help you find a new book or series to read. Note - this chart is BIG, and will likely involve a lot of scrolling. There's a printable version here.

I found this entertaining. :)

They lose points for a general lack of anything from Scott Lynch or Joe Abercrombie, though.

The Lies of Locke Lamora - among other works by Scott Lynch

As far as flow charts go, this one is terrible. The structure is really bad, if you actually try to follow it. And the recommendations are poor. Granted, referrals are subjective, but seriously - "never read fantasy, start with LotR"? How about the Hobbit instead.

They're organizing an existing list of 100 books/series into a flowchart. The Hobbit wasn't on the list.

They were working backwards, which is why some of the paths are more glib than others.
