It is having an impact on how we play, and I like it. The realities of high level combat requiring no/little movement was so boring. I took to calling melee types potted plants, heh
I think to obtain the dynamic feel, you have to have a mix of characters, some of whom do lots of damage on full attacks and some who don't (or at least, not more than with a single attack).
If you have a bunch of swordsages fighting another bunch of swordsages, there's not much reason to move around. You don't deal more damage by standing still, but then, neither does the other guy. If you do move away, he can just follow. It's when you have a bunch of swordsages fighting a bunch of conventional tanks, that movement comes into play.
