For pregen runners, anyone using acid arrow over sleep?

... my main logic being that Sleeps seems to affect allies. It shouldn't, but by the wording of the character sheet it seems to.

Sleep, easy choice. Anyone can do damage, sleep is a swiss army knife. Slow in itself is gold.

-Want to look cool like in the Matrix
-Someone runing for help?
-Reenforcements incoming?
-Foe escaping?
-It can be used non-violently from 20 squares away from cover to deal with "friendlies".
-Need to get the jump on one big bad guy (action points/combat advantage can really be maximized here).
-Just had a huge fight 15 minutes after waking up? Cast on the party for a non-pharmasutical recharge slumber
-Area effect means that the odds of taking one foe unconcious is high.

Often it simply knocks a foe out of the fight, almost ANY foe.

Utility spells != Daily spells. A utility spell might be daily, but it's still not one of your Daily spells. As little sense as that makes; attack spells and non-attack spells come from different "pools."

I'm pretty sure that Utility spells aren't supposed to be considered Dailies for purposes of the spellbook.

In other words, pick either Sleep or Acid Arrow, and you can also use Expeditions Retreat once per day.

Daily attack powers and a Utility power that can be used daily aren't the same thing. Utility powers are a separate type that get their own progression alongside At-will, Encounter, and Daily powers. We've seen utility powers that can be used once per encounter and ones that can be used once per day (like Expeditious Retreat). There may also be utility powers that can be used at-will, but I don't think we've seen any examples of those.

To clarify, I meant "shouldn't" in the fluff sense rather than the mechanical sense.

And to answer your question, because the power writeup says "You exert your will against your foes".
