So I was looking at these:

Caltrops
A caltrop is a four-pronged iron spike crafted so that one prong faces up no matter how the caltrop comes to rest. You scatter caltrops on the ground in the hope that your enemies step on them or are at least forced to slow down to avoid them. One 2-pound bag of caltrops covers an area 5 feet square.

Each time a creature moves into an area covered by caltrops (or spends a round fighting while standing in such an area), it might step on one. The caltrops make an attack roll (base attack bonus +0) against the creature. For this attack, the creature’s shield, armor, and deflection bonuses do not count. If the creature is wearing shoes or other footwear, it gets a +2 armor bonus to AC. If the caltrops succeed on the attack, the creature has stepped on one. The caltrop deals 1 point of damage, and the creature’s speed is reduced by one-half because its foot is wounded. This movement penalty lasts for 24 hours, or until the creature is successfully treated with a DC 15 Heal check, or until it receives at least 1 point of magical curing. A charging or running creature must immediately stop if it steps on a caltrop. Any creature moving at half speed or slower can pick its way through a bed of caltrops with no trouble.

Caltrops may not be effective against unusual opponents.

And thought to myself, "Man, what if I were a wealthy adventurer and could spend gobs of GP on my gear?"

Magic Caltrops. Same as above, but crafted well enough to hold weapon enchantments.

Imagine throwing some of these with the Flaming enchantment at your foes.

Or, if you were a dedicated Mage-killer, enchant them with Binding (prevents Teleportation) and watch as he tries to escape after stepping on one...

I'm not sure what they would cost- would it be per caltrop or per bag?- but it could be fun!

So...what about your ideas?

Is this pointing out cool little gems from the books, or making up our own items?

My friend and I a while back wanted to make magical footwear to, as an immediate action while in the air, create a small plan of force momentarily under your feet.

The purpose? To give a means to do awesome mid-air jumps, of course!

I once gave a PC the following item:

Octahedra of Unpredictable Protection

This set of 4 small dice shaped like d8s must be rolled to be activated (a standard action). Whenever they are rolled, they will automatically take up position at the four corners of your space. Your space and everything within it up to your height are protected by varying effects based on the total result rolled with the 4d8, for a duration of as many rounds as your rolled result:

4-14: Protection from Evil
15-22: Resist Elements (all)
23-28: Minor Globe of Invulnerability
29-32: Wall of Force surrounds your space

If all Octahedra show the same result, ythe user is automatically protected with all the listed effects. The Octahedra and their effects move with the user (roll again at the end of each move), and can be dispelled normally. The user can end the effect at any time by picking up the Octahedra (a move action that provokes AoOs).
The Octahedra of Unpredictable Protection can be used 1d8 times per day.

Mask of Intimidation

Yeah, thats right.
A Mask crafted as an intimidation tool, giving a +2 Circumstance bonus, and at the same time enhanted with a +3 competence bonus at the same skill.

For only 950gp.

A Large, Warbeast, Rust Monster Mount?

A Pocket Airship?

Just sayin... 'cause, ya know... I think it's a good idea.

Are shameless personal plugs a bad thing?

how about to compliment one's Dancing weapon, Dancing armor?

Intelligent Dancing armor.
Grants you bonus to perform (dance) check, the outfit has a higher Charisma score than you do, you can use it's charisma for charisma skills if you're wearing it.
However, when it's off, people will ask you about it, will want to spend more time with your armor than with you, and it will get invited to parties without you.
Once per day, the armor can cast Mass Otto's Irresistible Dance and Enlarged Ghost Sound to generate a spontaneous choreographed dance number within a crowd.

AFB but caltrops are essentially ammo which IRC is enchanted in groups of 50. Greasy caltrops could prove interesting as could holding/paralytic versions.

Pimp Ring

100000gp

Grants wearer a +2 bonus to charisma and strength. Also, increases your unarmed strike damage by a size category. Once per day, by issuing a command phrase (WHERE'S MY MONEY?!) you cast dominate person. If cast on a female, they get no save.

I made up this magic item for an arena NPC once. Forgot what I priced it at, but I think it was around 2500 gp.

Mask of the Tyrant: Once per encounter, if at less than half full hit points, the wearer can use the mask’s cowing ability as an immediate action after a foe attacks him. The wearer then makes an intimidate check opposed by the foe’s attack roll. If the wearer wins this opposed roll, the aggressor finds he is unable to follow through with the attack. The attack action of the victim is negated, and he is unable to make any attacks against the wearer until the start of the wearer’s next round (including attacks of opportunity). If the victim has made no other attacks thus far, he can still take a move action. He also retains the ability to attack other characters he threatens. This ability only works on foes that can see the wearer, though the wearer does not need to see them
